The photography community is so inspiring. I'm a part of a few groups on Facebook, and recently I saw a blog post by another photographer who decided to document her day with her kids. Ever since then I wanted to try it, so I decided today was the day.
I'm in the studio 3 days a week (usually) and the other two days my son is home with me. I have so much respect for full-time moms - I tried it for the first 8 months and well....it's rough. As much as I love my son, our part-time routine really works for us. It seems like the perfect balance. I know that there are struggles on both ends of the spectrum, whether you're a full-time parent, or a full-time WORKING parent and I feel really lucky and grateful every day that my job allows me to have kind of the best of both worlds.
I'm calling this "a day in the life" but really it's more like a half-day. I started after breakfast and I won't lie, I lost steam right before I made dinner. I take a LOT of photos of my son and our life at home, but it was a new challenge for me to try and document a full day (or the better part of a full day), and I'm actually really loving the result. I have a feeling I'll probably try this again a few times :) Highlights of the day: we found a baby snake in our front yard (ew), bought new Batman pajamas (Fox is currently OBSESSED), and I stumbled upon a very cool little spot for photos in the alley behind our house.
I decided not to edit out the teenage-like pimple on Fox's cheek (??) because, well, it's real life :)
